We were at the Bjerke cabin the first weekend in Feb. and there was 18" of snow on the ground. It was up to my knees as I hiked across the creek and up the other side to see David and his Dad cutting down trees for use in our house.
You can just see Ed and David at the base of this standing dead tree. The trees by the cabin havae been hit really hard with the spruce bud worm and bark beetle...so there are A LOT standing dead. We are taking advantage of that fact and cutting them down to create timber bents for our great room.
Jake originally cut this trail through the snow - Thor was having a heck of a time in it...didn't want to touch it...probably too cold.
