Floor Trusses!!
Well, we got 90% of our basement walls framed - including all the load bearing walls...so it was time to do our floor trusses. We actually got them all installed and sheathed this weekend it was great! We had lots of good help too!
Here is my dad and my uncle Brett installing the first truss. This will be the front entrance to our main floor. These trusses are all engineered and build by a truss plant. They are 14" tall.
Here is Uncle Brett, Dad, and my cousin Seth (from California). Seth and his family were here visiting for a couple of weeks. 
Here is my CRAZY uncle Brett walking the wall!! The truss he has in his hands weighs about 130# and it 18' long. Him and my dad did this all weekend long. Usually they each had an end, but in this case it was just Brett. 
In this picture we have set all the floor trusses for the entry way and great room. We are just starting to sheath it...the OSB that is shown here was what we used to walk trusses out and install them.

Here is the finished product. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the help on Sunday - David's sister and her boyfriend where there to help as well as my sister Meaghan. We were able to place all the trusses and sheath the entire floor. One thing we learned - they probably didn't glue our floor sheathing down in Portland - our floor squeaked ALL the time....I don't think we will have the same problem here...there is lots of glue under there. Plus we will have the weight of the gyp-crete to hold it down too. Gyp-crete is a type of concrete used to install radiant floors.
Here is what the "hallway" looks like now with the floor done above. You can see a wall framed on the ground waiting to be put up....
